Hans Blix is one of Sweden's most renowned and experienced diplomats and international lawyers, currently the Chairman of the independent international Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission, WMDC. Hans Blix was Foreign Minister of Sweden 1978-79, and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, from 1981 to 1997. He was Executive Chairman of the UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) in Iraq from March 2000 to June 2003.
