Sthlm Policy Group led a conflict analysis of the North Africa Region. The assignment was commissioned by Sida.
Swedish development cooperation with the Middle East and North Africa is currently following a five-year strategy period (2016-2020). The aim of the strategy has been to contribute to strengthening democracy, increased respect for human rights and sustainable development that improve the prospects for peace, stability and freedom in the region.
SPG's analysis provided a synthesis of the current drivers of peace and conflict in the North Africa region as well as key geopolitical actors in the region (both regional and global). The analysis sought to identify factors contributing to radicalisation in the region, particularly in relation to issues of employment and displacement.
