The Assessment of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Regional Africa Programme (RAP) focused on assessing the tools and processes for ensuring the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of RAP.

RWI developed together with six key programme partners a regional programme for the period 2017-2021. The programme focuses on the implementation of regional human rights commitments by national and regional institutions.

RWI’s partners include, notably, African Court Coalition (ACC), African Policing Civilian Oversight Forum (APCOF), East Africa Law Society (EALS), Equality Now, Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU), and Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI). In addition, the RAP also included faculty members and directors from six African universities in six African countries, as well as; African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACtHPR); African Union (AU); East African Court of Justice (EACJ); East African Community (EAC) Department of Peace and Security; and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) / Community Court of Justice (CCJ) (of ECOWAS).
